GigE Vision is a new camera interface standard developed using the Gigabit Ethernet communication protocol. GigE Vision is the first standard to allow for fast image transfer using low cost standard cables even over long distances. With GigE Vision, hardware and software from different vendors can interoperate seamlessly over GigE connections.

The goal of GenICam is to provide a generic programming interface for all kinds of cameras. Regardless of interface technology (GigE Vision, Camera Link, 1394 DCAM, etc.) or features implemented, the application programming interface (API) will always be the same. The GenICam protocol also makes third party software being possible to use with the camera.

FLIR A320 targets safety and automation applications where networking capabilities and compliance with networking protocols is of essence. The camera can be installed discretely almost anywhere to monitor your business and is ideal for any industry where fire prevention, critical vessel monitoring and fixed mounted predictive maintenance are important. Typical users are oil refineries, petrochemical and power plants, and for natural gas processing for monitoring of substations and warehouses.

The FLIR A325 Infrared Camera

FLIR A325 targets R&D and automation applications and is a perfect instrument for industries which rely on permanent monitoring of objects that are fast moving or when the temperature changes over time is quiet fast. FLIR A325 also complies with standards like GigE Vision and GenICam. Due to its compliance to standards, FLIR A325 is a Plug&Play device within 3rd parties Machine Vision softwares like NIs IMAQ Vision TM   and the MVTecs Halcon TM  software. Examples of applications are PCB testing, validation and design verification within the automotive, medical and power electronics industries.

Included Multi Camera Software

FLIR A320/325 come with advanced and dedicated software that meet the analysis needs of a wide range of applications. IP Configuration Utility and IR-Monitor – supporting up to nine cameras simultaneously - allow the production of an image within minutes of installation. Also included is a set of interface descriptions and code examples, the AXXX Control and Image Interface.

 

For development of own software applications, a Systems Development Kit (SDK) for Visual Studio users or a LabVIEW™ toolkit is available to purchase.
