Key Performance Features

FLIR T-Series (including B-Series)

The information below outlines the powerful features that contribute to the FLIR T-Series (including the building range) infrared cameras' world performance.

High Definition Images

320x240

Up to 320 x 240 pixel resolution

The T-Series infrared image resolution ranges from 240 x 180 pixels to 320 x 240 pixels depending on camera model. The more pixels the better the resolution.

Resolution

<45 mK

Camera sensitivity

The thermal sensitivity in the FLIR T-Series ranges from 80 mK (T250) to 50 mK (T425) depending on model. For the building varieties the camera sensitivity ranges from 70 mK (B250) to 50 mK (B425). With a better sensitivity (lower value) the camera can capture the finest image details even at low temperature differences. Better detector sensitivity is particularly important for building applications where temperature differences are typically lower.

Image Quality

High quality digital camera

All models in the FLIR T-Series have an integrated 3.1 Mpixel digital camera. This makes observing and inspecting faster and easier and is needed to create Thermal Fusion and Picture-in-Picture images.

Panorama support (FLIR T250/T425 & B250/B425)

Take images in a sequence and automatically combine them to one large image using the FLIR BuildIR SW. The images can be shot in vertical or horizontal direction or in a combination of the two. When taking the series of images, the camera will support you by displaying a grid and part of the previous taken image will be displayed. Now it is easy to align the camera so the next image roughly fits the pervious image. You just continue until you have covered the whole house. In the FLIR BuildIR SW you choose one image in a series and press “Combine”. A large image is automatically created.

Notice the supporting grid. The transparent grey, displayed in the camera view, shows the right most part of the previous image.

High Sensitivity

Measurement range

Temperature measurement range 1 -20°C to +350°C, range 2 0°C to 650°C (optional up to 1200°C). The building models (B250/335/365/425) has a temperature range of -20°C to +120°C (optional up to 350°C)

interchangeable lenses

Interchangeable infrared lenses

The T-Series features a standard 25° lens and optional 6°, 15°, 45° and 90° lenses.

Power / Functionality

Flexible interfaces

Flexible interfaces

The T-Series is equipped with standard video, USB outputs as well as a removable SD card.

MPEG4

 MPEG-4 video (T425 / B425)

Create visual and infrared non radiometric MPEG-4 video files

Radiometric IR video streaming
16 bit radiometric IR video can be streamed to a PC (via USB) running the FLIR QuickPlot or FLIR ResearchIR software

thermal fusion

Thermal Fusion

FLIR's Thermal Fusion, merging visual and infrared images, allows for easier identification and interpretation of infrared images. Define whether to display areas above or below a predefined temperature threshold, or a temperature interval.

PiP

Picture-in-Picture

Create an infrared overlay on your visual image. Scalable, moveable and resizable. This feature helps to spot and highlight sensitive or dangerous temperature developments and makes report interpretation easy even for a person unfamiliar with infrared.

PnP

Picture-in-Picture allows a clear overview of this high voltage installation.

Insulation

Humidity Alarm/Insulation Alarm

The FLIR T-Series building models include building specific alarm functions; Relative Humidity Alarm and Insulation Alarm. The Relative Humidity Alarm alerts you to the areas where there is a risk of condensation. An Insulation Alarm shows the insulation performance of the building structure. By inputting relevant values into the camera the areas that fail to fulfill requirements will appear as colored.

measurement modes

Isotherm T400

An isotherm highlights the temperature distribution in a transformer.

Delta

A Delta T calculation shows that the temperature difference between Area 1 (Ar 1) and Spot 1 (Sp 1) is 151 ºC. The image is taken of the volcano Etna in Italy where a permanently mounted FLIR A-Series camera is registering its activities.

Measurement Modes

  • Movable measurement spots
  • Automatic hot/cold detection; auto hot or cold spot meter markers within area
  • Isotherms; an isotherm replaces certain colors in the scale with a contrasting color, which simplifies detecting a problem. Detect high, low and interval temperatures. An isotherm has a width and a temperature level which can be moved and stretched up and down in the scale.
  • ΔT (Delta T) calculation. ΔT means the difference of the results between two measurement tools or one tool and a manually set reference temperature.
  • Object parameters; possible to input values for emissivity, reflective apparent temperature, relative humidity, distance and atmospheric temperature.
